Canadian-born media artist Rose Bond has been honored with numerous awards and fellowships from such prestigious agencies as the American Film Institute, The Princess Grace Foundation, and the National Endowments for the Arts.
She has created large-scale, site-specific installations for a number of locations, including Gates of Light sponsored by Bloomberg at the landmarks Eldridge Street Synagogue in New York's Lower East Side. Her 2-D composite animation, Memoria Mortalis, was screened in competition at Sundance 2001 and toured nationally with the Ann Arbor Experimental Film Winners.
Bond's hand-drawn (direct animation) films are held in the Film Collection of the Museum of Modern Art.She is currently serving as an artistic advisor for the first international call for animated installations as a part of the inaugural Platform International Animation Festival. Bond received her BA from Portland State University and her MFA from School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She is an assistant Professor in Foundation and intermedia.
