Artist and instructor
Patrick Horsley, an artist, craftsman and educator, works in a variety of ceramic forms, taking influence from both primitive and contemporary architecture. His work straddles the line between conceptual and utilitarian forms, and many of his works are, as he describes, "ceremonial" in their categorization. The combination of many different elements into his pieces challenges our perception of familiar forms. He is the recipient of a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts and his work is featured in numerous collections throughout the Pacific Northwest. Horsley studied at Columbia Basin College and the Portland Art Museum School (now Pacific Northwest College of Art). Horsley is a longtime member of the Oregon Potters Association.
